Rest and meal break provisions for air traffic controllers were previously expected to cause some regional airports to suffer shut downs during normal operating hours due to prescriptive air traffic controller breaks.
The Director general of Airports Council International (ACI), Angela Gittens, briefed the ICAO Council on the subject of Airports and Climate Change Adaptation on 16 April 2010. The presentation covered:
